ACADEMIC DUAL CREDIT
This program is designed to allow students to begin their high education and graduate high school with roughly 24 semester credit hours (SCH), which are all transferable to any public institution in the state of Texas. Sophomore and junior classes are held on the high school campus, while seniors travel to San Jacinto College North for their courses. Thanks to a scholarship from GPISD, students can take up to two courses each semester for $52 each.
Since San Jac doesn't typically have class on Fridays, our sophomores and juniors get the opportunity at the end of each week to work on their homework, study for college entrance exams, and learn about the college admissions process with their academic advisor. Seniors are welcome, but are not required, to report to Friday study hall. However, they must check in on three designated Fridays throughout the semester during their scheduled class time.
