GET Free TUITION and BOOKS AT SAN JACINTO COLLEGE!
Yes, you read that right: The Promise @ San Jac scholarship offers money to help cover tuition and books for students who are enrolled at a participating high school or live in the San Jacinto College taxing district to complete their certificate or associate degree at San Jacinto College
STARTING September
- For those planning to attend San Jacinto College: Take the San Jac Promise Pledge to meet your first qualification for FREE COLLEGE!
- Fill out the ApplyTexas Application for admission into your community college. Note: You won't have to send your fall semester transcript, fees, or test scores yet.
- Use this chart to determine if you considered "College-Ready" , If you are, send your scores to your community college.

- If you are not currently considered "College-Ready", prepare for the TSIA.
- Research and apply to scholarships—at least two per week!
Starting december
- Apply for financial aid using the FAFSA or TASFA.
As Soon As you ARE ACCEPTED
- Obtain your meningitis shot. Here are some options:
- Your primary care provider; you can generally get it for free with insurance.
- Legacy Clinic at Galena Park Middle School; call (832) 386-1700 to make an appointment.
- San Jacinto College; schedule an appointment online.
- CVS Pharmacy; schedule your appointment online.
- Complete your New Student Orientation
- Update your TSIA scores (colleges allow you to test on campus).
- For students attending San Jacinto College: The GPHS San Jac Outreach Advisor is Ms. Reva Johnson. She can take your meningitis records, help you navigate through your New Student Orientation, and transfer your TSIA test scores.
February
- San Jac Promise Pledge and Apply Texas Application to San Jacinto College due by Thursday, February 22.
April
- FAFSA or TASFA due to San Jacinto College for San Jac Pledge by Thursday, April 25.
JUne - July
- Submit your final transcript to your college after graduation.
- Register for classes at San Jacinto College to qualify for The Promise by Thursday, July 18.
